As we enter into this Lenten season we journey together to the Cross of Christ as well as embracing our own.
Every work undertaken in obedience to a divine command, whether the work be that form of conflict with the powers of darkness that we call prayer, or whether it be the action that follows, leads sooner or later to a new demand on personal devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ.”
So wrote Amy Carmichael in a small book privately printed for those who might be considering joining her Dohnavur Fellowship. For any who may read this now who might be considering following Christ wherever He may lead—do not forget (I have often forgotten and then been puzzled) that the Way of the Cross leads (always-we can depend on it) to the Cross. The Cross always tests the reality of our love. It makes “new demands in personal devotion.”
